IRCC is the department of the Canadian government responsible for managing immigration, refugee, and citizenship matters. IRCC oversees various programs and services related to immigration, including processing visa applications, permits, and citizenship applications. In order to check your immigration status, you need to have an IRCC account. An IRCC account, also known as a “MyCIC account,” is an online portal provided by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada department. It allows individuals to access and manage their immigration applications, submit forms and documents, check application status, communicate with IRCC, and update personal information. The account is created by individuals who apply for visas, permits, or citizenship through IRCC’s online application system.
If you wish to deactivate your IRCC account or no longer use it, you can simply stop accessing it. However, it’s important to note that personal information you provided during the application process may be stored in accordance with privacy and data retention policies.
What Can You Do with an IRCC Account?
An IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) account provides various features and functionalities to individuals who have created an account. While the exact features may vary over time and updates made to the IRCC website, here are some common features that are typically available:
- The account allows you to manage your immigration applications online. You can submit applications for visas, permits, or citizenship, upload supporting documents, and track the progress of your application.
- You can upload and submit documents electronically to support your immigration applications. This includes passport copies, identity documents, educational certificates, language test results, and other relevant paperwork.
- An IRCC account allows you to check the status of your application(s) and view any updates or changes made by IRCC. You can track the progress of your application and see if any additional information or actions are required.
- You can use the account to communicate with IRCC regarding your application(s). This may include sending messages, asking questions, or providing additional information requested by the immigration authorities.
- The account allows you to update your personal information, such as your address, contact details, passport information, and marital status. It is important to keep this information up to date throughout the immigration process.
- If fees are associated with your application(s), you can use the account to securely make online payments. The account provides options for various payment methods.
- In certain cases, when biometric data (fingerprints and photographs) are required, you may need to schedule an appointment to visit a biometric collection center. The account allows you to schedule or reschedule biometric appointments.
